Ceramic Works

IMG_0113_edited.jpg

Creating simple ceramic pieces involves a series of steps that begins with selecting the right type of clay for the project and preparing it by kneading to remove air bubbles. Using hand-building techniques or a pottery wheel, the clay is shaped into the desired form, whether it's a bowl, cup, plate, or sculpture. After shaping, excess clay is trimmed, and the piece is smoothed to refine its texture. Once dried thoroughly, the piece undergoes bisque firing to harden it into a durable ceramic material. After bisque firing, glazing comes next, where a wide range of colors and finishes can be applied to the surface.

Finally, the piece is fired again to melt the glaze into a glass-like surface, resulting in a finished ceramic piece ready for enjoyment or display. Each step in the process demands patience, attention to detail, and a love for the craft, culminating in a unique and beautiful creation.
